I like tomato juice.
People say it’s good for the health.
Also, it makes me feel like I’m doing something positive for myself and it apparently helps keep you physically young.
I dunno who said all this though.
Anyhow, it goes hand-in-hand with a good diet, which in turn promotes a healthy mind.
It’s all a cycle.
Everything is.
But come to think of it, I wouldn’t’ve dreamt of drinking tomato juice when I was younger.
Shit made me wanna puke.
What changed?
Did I age?
If that's the case, I wonder just what happened to my youth.
Is that something that’s supposed to fade?
I’m going to turn 28 this year.
I remember feeling like this at 18.
Will I feel the same at 38?
Maybe this is all a cycle, too.
But do these numbers really represent my youth?
And can drinking some processed juice preserve the essence of my youth?
In actuality, nah.
So why drink tomato juice?
Drinking it could essentially be a metaphorical grasp for the last bits of youth.
To maintain the vigor.
Or is it just my mind that’s gotten older?
My body is still strong—it’s my mind that feels tired more often than not.
What causes that?
Am I the one letting the time slip by?
Perhaps I’m focusing on it too much?
Is thinking about time the thing that causes us to age?
Maybe it makes us realize just how much time has passed.
That, in turn, sends the mind into shock and we unconsciously align ourselves up with how we’re ‘supposed’ to act and think.
That in itself is a lot to think about.
Thinking it makes me feel tired.
Maybe if I keep the tomato juice flowing, I can come to a conclusion.
Or am I just overthinking?
Time is a human construct after all.
Is it possible that aging just an objective perception built on the concept of time?
If that’s the case, wouldn’t it seem unorthodox for all of us to use the same system of ‘youth classification’?
No one can really be the same age mentally and physically as someone else.
Poor diet and lack of exercise cause one to age faster.
The body decays accordingly.
One whom dines on fast food and remains stationary for most of their life are more likely to die earlier.
So that brings me back to my initial query.
Why drink tomato juice?
As of late, I’ve become very self-conscious of the things I eat, drink, and breathe in, as well as my environment.
Life ages us all.
The main difference with me is that I want to be in total control of it.
There are a lot of things I want to do, and I feel I’ll disappoint myself and those around me if I don’t get those things done.
In a way, I’m not drinking tomato juice to stop myself aging, but I’m drinking it to preserve myself as I am now.
